Jane graduated from Glasgow University Medical School in 1981 and then continued her training in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine in hospitals across the West of Scotland and also worked in clinical research with the University Of Glasgow Department Of Anaesthesia before completing her training in Grampian based at Foresterhill Hospitals in Aberdeen, where she was also Honorary Clinical Lecturer.
